Bar & Waiting Staff

Black Label Events at AFC Bournemouth is currently recruiting in preparation for the 2016/2017 football season.

We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic, reliable, self-motivated & well-presented individuals with a hard working positive approach and excellent attention to detail, to work Match-Days and potentially Private Functions.

Previous experience within a quality fast-paced catering environment is preferable – A strong work ethic and a “can do” attitude are both prerequisites.

Due to a potentially sporadic and changeable fixture-list, and the nature of hospitality, you will need to be flexible regarding shift times & dates. With regards to your availability, Match-Days fall predominantly on Weekends but will also include occasional Weekdays therefore it is essential that you are regularly able to work these days.

As a rough guide, Weekend Match-Day shifts will be 10am-8pm (approx.) and Mid-week Match-Day shifts will be 4pm-12am (approx.)

Catering Assistant / Bar Staff – Concourse Season 2017/2018

District: AFC Bournemouth Vitality Stadium, Kings Park, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH7 7AF

Duration: Permanent – from July 2017

Minimum age: 16

Details : We are recruiting staff to serve food, confectionery, hot /cold drinks, etc.

The shifts are approx. 4 – 8 hours – HOME MATCH DAY only – (usually Saturday ) from July/ August 2017.

Staff will be expected to work at a fast pace as we only have a small time frame to serve the supporters.

Duties include handling cash, using tills, recording information, replenishing stock, ensuring your work area is clean and tidy. You will also be expected to handle food this can include an element of cooking.

You will be expected to work as part of a team as there are 16 concourse bars and kiosk around the stadium, each bar has approx. 12 staff. Customer care is very important to us, so you will be expected to be polite and helpful to all individual customers.

The stadium is very busy on a match day but there is a good atmosphere within the team and you get to know the supporters. Rate of pay is dependent on age. There are opportunities for pay increments if you become a bar supervisor and we are currently recruiting for Bar supervisors and Bar staff, however this can be discussed and reviewed when we feel your quality of work is at supervisor level.

Experience is a bonus but not essential as full training given onsite.

Players Pavilion Chef de Partie

We are looking for a proven, enthusiastic and hardworking Chef de Partie to join our team. Your responsibilities would include ensuring all kitchen operations and activities are carried out in full compliance with the company’s operating standards and procedures and the head chef’s instructions.

At Black Label Events, we are passionate about fresh food, quality ingredients, outstanding customer service and genuine hospitality. We undertake all conferencing, events and hospitality catering at the Vitality Stadium. Also within our remit are the playing staff and all their catering and nutritional requirements.

Position

  • The Candidate we are looking for is an experienced Chef de Partie with at least 2 years’ experience in this role
  • You may be from a contract catering or restaurant background and preferably have some experience of sports nutrition
  • Candidates must be good communicators, have a hands on approach and be passionate about food
  • You must be flexible, reliable and able to work hours to meet the business’s needs – which may include evenings and weekends
  • Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes as per the head chefs requirements
  • Helping the head chef to develop new dishes and menus
  • Ensuring you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
  • Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins

MATCH DAY BAR MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

The job purpose of the bar manager is to direct, control and organize all staff, within your direct span of control, ensuring customer requirements are satisfied; to assume overall responsibility for the running of the bar; to maintain an open and accurate channel of communication with the entire management team; to implement, control and review all procedures relating to stock control, cash handling, purchasing and stock.

KEY DUTIES OF BAR MANAGER:

  • To set good example to staff with the regard to punctuality, attendance, attitude and hygiene.
  • To liaise with Operations team regarding recruitment needs and carry out interviews as required.
  • To train new staff in methods and procedures.
  • To implement Grievance and Disciplinary procedures where necessary and report all serious breaches of discipline to Operations team.
  • To promote and practice relevant fire, health and safety standards.
  • To provide induction training for new staff within their first day of employment.
  • To asses training needs and provide relevant training.
  • To carry out accurate cash-up procedures at the end of every shift.
  • To liaise with HODs of all departments regarding procedures of service.
  • To be aware of all relevant legislation regarding sale of liquor / opening hours.
  • To constantly strive to improve all standards of hygiene and service in all bars.
  • To prepare and issue staff rotas which provide adequate cover in a cost effective manner.
  • To ensure all deliveries are checked correctly and invoicing is correct.
  • To accurately undertake a stock count once a month.

This position will be perfect for someone looking for a part time job.

The ideal candidate would be a personal licence holder and MUST be available for all home fixtures throughout the football seasons.

Black Label Events is part of AFC Bournemouth, and is the leading provider of catering and support to the Vitality Stadium. Black Label Events caters for over 1000 covers a week and supplies food for 12000 on match days. Black Label Events has a fresh food ethos, which we pride ourselves on cooking everything in house giving the client 2 rosette standard fresh foods.
